Our skates are compliant with: BS EN13899:2003 Rollerskates Safety Requirements And Testing, issued 14 July 2005 BS EN13843:2003 Standard Specifications for Roller Skate Equipment.

URBAN STREET
Our slick 100mm wheels are manufactured using high-rebound urethane on an Italian crafted chrome hub made by Hyper exclusively for Skorpion Quadline.
The combination of these components guarantees a smooth and shock-absorbing wheel roll, enhancing skater stability and buffering from pavement shocks and inconsistencies..
MULTI TERRAIN
The power of eight 5" mags (125mm) will take you places you thought you would never be able to go!
The geometry of the wheel design follows contemporary automotive design of an open 5 spoke mag style and low profile tyre.
In conjunction with the dual bearing in each wheel and Quad Coil Spring Suspension these wheels reduce rolling resistance and minimize vibration on rough surfaces.
Transition from smooth to rough surfaces is effortless!
After extensive research and trialing we have chosen a blend of ENGAGETM and THERMOPRENE polymers to permanently over-mold the tire onto the 5” Mag wheel skate rims.
ENGAGE™ polyolefin elastomers by The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) bridge the gap between rubber and plastic polymers inspiring new design possibilities. By blending a THERMOPRENE thermoplastic elastomer, newly made by HS Material Company, with the EngageTM we have produced a skate tire perfectly suited to Multi Terrain activities.
Engage™ itself exhibits a unique combination of flexibility and toughness and is a proven performer for high impact applications. It is commonly used to modify existing polymers where a higher level of performance is required. The low density of Engage™ meant that we could design a larger diameter wheel without adding additional weight to the product. The lightweight high impact tires allow skaters to enter skate parks to pull off spectacular aerial tricks confidently and travel over uneven surfaces, and nature trails and tracks in relative comfort.
The Thermoprene adds a rubber finish to the Engage™ tire improving the traction of the skates when cornering on smooth surfaces and in the wet. The Thermoprene polymer formulation includes a natural rubber component that absorbs shock and enhances performance. The Engage™ and Thermoprene blend has been used with confidence over all surfaces, is durable, long lasting and robust enough to handle the demands of Multi Terrain Skating.

Skorpion Skate BEARINGS
All Skorpion Quad Skates sport two industry standard ABEC 5 R/S (rubber sealed) bearings per wheel.
With 2 x bearings per wheel, that's 16 per pair of skates! They reduce drag, minimize rolling resistance, and provide lateral strength, ease of skating and speed to burn.
Skorpion Skate CHASSIS DESIGN
Utilizing thermoplastic resins, in this case glass filled nylon for the footplates/chassis our Skorpion Quad Skates are durable, tough, have high impact resistance and are lightweight.
This allows people of all ages and fitness levels to easily use and man oeuvre the skates.
The wheelbase footprint, QuadCoil Spring Suspension and large Mag wheels in conjunction with the use of tested and proven materials combine to give the Skorpion Quad Skates strength, stability and safety you can rely on.
The skates utilize GRILLON BG30S Glass filled nylon6 from Swiss chemical company EMSGrivory to manufacture the size adjustable front and rear footplates - the chassis.
GRILLO BG30S our polymer of choice was selected by our designers because it is lightweight and exhibits excellent mechanical properties including stiffness for support and stability; toughness and impact resistance to handle the most demanding terrain; and its ability to be used in low and high temperature environments without becoming brittle or distorting.
Skorpion Skate AXLE DESIGN
Our unique axle assembly is a combination of an 8mm steel axle shaft encapsulated by GRILLON BG30S Glass Filled Nylon6.
The steel shaft is permanently molded into the Nylon axle mount and once encapsulated by the Glass Filled Nylon polymer reinforces the steel shaft to give it strength and stiffness, and provide the geometry required to allow the axle to pivot and provide steering action to each skate. The steel shaft provides the hard surface tolerance fit required to support the high performance bearings.
The design and calculated placement of the axle under the front and rear footplates through the axle mount pivot transfers the load and weight of the skater down and out to each of the five inch wheels allowing them to easily initiate a turn and negotiate terrain.
Skorpion Skate SUSPENSION AND STEERAGE DESIGN
The preloaded QuadCoil Spring Suspension and steering system gives positive responsive control when initiating a turn, reduces vibration and provides relative comfort when skating uneven or rough terrain - just think of them as mini 4x4's.
The footprint of the skates, the low centre of gravity and the Quadcoil suspension improves stability for the skater while both mobile and stationery.
The QuadCoil Spring Suspension on the Skorpion™ skate is an essential functional design feature. The ability to easily control and man oeuvre the skates is considered by us to be paramount to a fun and enjoyable skating experience.
We use zinc dichromate coated high carbon compression springs positioned close to each wheel to provide the functionality we require.
Each spring is preloaded, and compresses or expands as the skater transfers their weight from right to left to initiate a turn. The responsiveness of the springs to expand and compress in unison translates to quick and easy maneuverability.
The zinc dichromate coating adds an attractive reflective chrome finish to enhance the appearance of the skate and provide rust resilience.

Let's face it; we're all in hurry, especially when keen for a skate. No time is wasted with the secure strap and ratchet buckle system - you will be skating in no time!
Skorpion™ Quad Skates are designed to allow skaters to simply Step In and Strap'n'go!
The convenient, rigid strap and buckle ratchet system allows the skater to fasten the Skorpion Skates to their footwear quickly and effortlessly, and provide positive holding power.
Manufactured from extremely tough and durable thermoplastic Polyurethane elastomer they provide strength and holding to withstand shock and creep resistance. Skaters feel confident and comfortable in the skate.
Thermoplastic Polyurethane offers all the flexibility of rubber but with the high load bearing capacity of an engineered polymer and can be seen in many applications such as straps for snowboard bindings, golf balls, and soles of quality sports shoes.
Combined with the flexibility of Polyurethane straps is the rigidness and high strength of glass filled nylon buckles. We have also incorporated a soft under pad to provide comfort and eliminate damage to footwear.
Skorpion™ skaters can step into the skate footplate and firmly secure themselves with the assistance of the ratchet lever mechanism. The secure and positive action of the strap and buckle allows users to confidently shift their weight to initiate a turn with the knowledge that the skate is always going to follow.
Skorpion Skate BRAKES
Detachable brakes
are fitted to one skate and are easily transferred from one foot to another
to suit the preference of the skater.
The rubber stopper provides enhanced braking on smooth surfaces.
We use a non-marking rubber so that the skates can be used in the skate rinks and arenas without marking the surface.
